Trans -Verbenol Isolated from Douglas-Fir Beetle 1 : Laboratory and Field Bioassays in Oregon 2

Abstract
Trans -verbenol was isolated from the hindguts of fed female Dendroctonus pseudotsugae Hopkins from Oregon and Idaho. Bioassay in Oregon showed some male arrestment response in the laboratory but flight response in the field only in combination with frontalin. Concentration was a significant factor. Apparent differences in pheromone production in Idaho and Oregon are summarized.
