Abstract
To the Editor: It appears from the data of Greene, Reid and Schaeffer, in the October 5, 1978, issue of the Journal, that the specificity and the predictive value of the pacer-induced repetitive ventricular response and of the long-term electrocardiographic (Holter) recording are similar in foreshadowing ventricular tachycardia or sudden death during the follow-up period in patients recovering from myocardial infarction. However, the sensitivity of the response appeared to be greater than that of the Holter technic, although the difference was not statistically significant.A possible explanation for the difference in sensitivity may be the method the authors used . . .Keywords
