Coccidia from Mink in Britain

Abstract
Two hundred mink from 42 farms were examined post mortem. Eimeria vison (Kingscote) was found in 3 mink from 3 farms and Isospora laidlawi Hoare in 5 mink from 3 farms. In both species the organisms were confined to the posterior three fifths of the intestine. In no case was the parasite found to be the cause of death. The oocysts are described in detail and the descriptions are compared with those of earlier authors. This appears to be the first record of Coccidia from mink in Britain.
