Abstract
Observations of changes in crimp of wool fibers during supercontraction in aqueous solutions have led to a means of modifying the crimp of fibers from a single fleece. Felting studies on such modified fibers have shown that straightening of the wool facilitates felting whereas the imposition of tight coils in the fibers retards felting. Keywords
