Abstract
Quantitative measurements of the temperature and frequency dependence of magnetic direct generation and the relative efficiency of generation in a number of metals are presented. These results are shown to be in substantial agreement with a description of the generation of ultrasound in terms of magnetic body forces on the eddy currents in the skin depth of the metal. Keywords
