Improvement of Magnetic Properties of Amorphous Ferromagnetic Alloy by Flash Annealing

Abstract
The effect of field flash annealing (which combines the application of an electrical current pulse to the sample and the simultaneous application of a longitudinal magnetic field) on the dc magnetic properties of amorphous ferromagnetic Fe40Ni40B20 ribbon is studied. It is found that such a technique can be used to improve the softness in magnetic properties of the alloy when the magnitude of current pulse is less than a certain value, beyond which the sample becomes harder.
