Treatment of Carcinoma of the Endometrium

Abstract
A series of 242 cases of carcinoma of the endometrium with a 100% follow-up is reported. The absolute survival rates at three, five, and ten years are 56%, 46%, and 39%, respectively. No vaginal implants or metastases were observed during the first three years of follow-up of 118 cases treated by a combination of preop-erative radiotherapy and hysterectomy. The trend of the data favors roentgen therapy over Curie therapy as the modality of choice for the preoperative irradiation of carcinoma of the endometrium.
