Study ofT=32states inF17

Abstract
The first seven T=32 states in F17 have been studied as resonances in the O16+p entrance channel, observing the (p0), (p1+p2), (p3+p4), and (α0) exit channels. In a survey of the energy region Ep=13.23 to 16.60 MeV in steps of less than 5 keV at six laboratory angles, the previously unobserved fourth and fifth T=32 states were found at Ep=13.271±0.004 and 14.017±0.004 MeV, respectively. Complete elastic scattering angular distributions (at 29 angles from θlab=25 to 165°) were measured from Ep=9.0 to 20.35 MeV in 50-keV steps and were analyzed using the optical-model code JIB3 to extract phase-shift information across this region. These results were used in a phase-shift analysis of the individual T=32 resonances to obtain the following assignments for the second through the seventh T=32 states in F17: {Ep (MeV),Ex(F17) (MeV),Γ (keV),Γp0Γ,Jπ}{12.708±0.00412.5513±1,0.26±0.0432}{13.250±0.00413.0612±1,0.15±0.0452}{13.271±0.00413.0802±1,0.04±0.02(12+)}{14.017±0.00413.78212±5,0.02±0.0152+}{14.438±0.00614.17727±5,0.04±0.0232}{14.579±0.01014.31020±5,0.11±0.0372}
