IV. The nuclear spins and magnetic moments of24Na,42K,86Rb,131Cs and134Cs

Abstract
The atomic beam magnetic resonance method has been used to find the nuclear spins and the ground state hyperfine structure splittings of the radioactive alkali atoms 24Na, 42K, 86Rb, 131Cs and 134Cs. The spins and Δv values were obtained by observing ΔF=0, Δm=±1 transitions in weak and intermediate fields, and the Fermi-Segre relation was used to calculate the magnetic moments from the results. More accurate Δv values were also found for 24Na and 42K by locating ΔF=±1, Δm=±1 transitions. The results are tabulated below.
