Succinoxidase

Abstract
Water or saline extracted most of the fumarase from minced rabbit liver but a phosphate or bicarbonate solution, p H9, was necessary to extract most of it from muscle. At a given pH phosphate accelerated the action of fumarase from either source but not that of succinodehydrogenase. The temp. coefficient for the action of fumarase varied with the source and with the particular extract used. NaCl inhibited the action of succinodehydrogenase; NaF inhibited fumarase. Fumarase was found in some invertebrate muscles and also in ox-blood cells. The reactions were followed polarimetrically.
