SCINTILLATION SCANNING OF LIVER CELL ADENOMA

Abstract
Scintillation photoscannings with technetium 99m sulfur colloid and iodine 131 rose bengal were performed in a 33 year old female before and after partial liver resection for benign adenoma. The benign nature of the functioning liver cell adenoma, seen in the photoscans, correlates well with the gross and microscopic pathologic changes. The adenoma takes up both radionuclides to almost the same degree as normal liver tissue.
