THE EFFECT OF HYPOTHALAMIC LESIONS ON ADRENAL SECRETION OF CORTISOL, CORTICOSTERONE, 11-DESOXYCORTISOL AND ALDOSTERONE1

Abstract
The output of cortisol, corticosterone, 11-desoxycortisol and aldosteronc was measured in the adrenal venous blood of normal dogs and dogs with hypothalamic lesions. Secretion of all these hormones was depressed in dogs with destruction of the median eminence, but unaffected by lesions elsewhere in the hypothalamus.
