Hematemesis Associated with Hemobilia

Abstract

HEMATEMESIS secondary to bleeding into the biliary tract is a comparatively rare entity. The case presented below was due to hemorrhage into the biliary tract, secondary to an arterial aneurysm in the right lobe of the liver. The aneurysm was intrahepatic, and detected by angiography of the right hepatic artery at the time of exploration.We believe that this represents the first reported case of an intrahepatic aneurysm causing hemobilia, diagnosed by angiography and followed by cure.
