Support of ovulation in the ring dove by auditory and visual stimuli.

Abstract
21 of 25 experienced female ring doves laid eggs when visually isolated except for their own reflection in a mirror, provided that they were also exposed to the sound of a breeding colony of doves. None of 12 females exposed to the sound of the breeding colony, but unable to see either another live dove or their mirror image, laid; 2 of 10 females exposed to their own mirror image but unable to hear other doves laid.
