EFFECT OF CYPROTERONE ACETATE‐ETHINYL OESTRADIOL TREATMENT ON ADRENAL FUNCTION IN HIRSUTE WOMEN

Abstract
Pituitary adrenal suppression was assessed in 22 patients receiving cyproterone acetate (100 mg) and ethynyl estradiol (30 .mu.g) for the treatment of hirsutism. Cortisol responsiveness to ACTH and to insulin induced hypoglycemia, and diurnal variations of plasma cortisol levels were measured before and after 6 mo. of treatment. There was no evidence that adrenal suppression is a significant problem in this group of patients.
