Abstract
Soil actinomycetes were screened for the production of cyclic[c]AMP phosphodiesterase [EC 3.1.4.17] inhibitors. One of the active agents was isolated and identified as reticulol, which has no structural relationship with cAMP. An assay method for the enzyme, isolation procedures for the active agent and the type of inhibition are reported. A streptomycete strain which effectively produced an inhibitor of this enzyme is closely related to Streptomyces mobaranensis. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
