Abstract
After a briew review of the development of interest in deep-seated fungal infections in Britain, and of the factors that have led to their increasingly frequent recognition there, the types of mycosis are tabulated into 2 categories, "native mycoses," which may be acquired under natural conditions in Britain, and "exotic mycoses," which are caused by fungi that are not ordinarily found there. Cases of multiple fungal infections are tabulated separately. Forty cases of deep mycoses, illustrating the variety of infections that may be seen, and the circumstances in which they may be recognized, are summarized.
