Abstract
The limit set by chromatic dispersion on the velocity resolution of Čerenkov counters can be reduced by more than an order of magnitude by optical correction of chromatism. Performance of a counter built according to this principle is presented, showing ability to separate particles differing in velocity by only a few parts in 106.Keywords
