COBBLESTONE ESOPHAGUS DUE TO MONILIAL INFECTION

Abstract
A case of esophageal moniliasis is reported in which smooth, irregularly shaped contour defects formed a roentgenographic pattern designated as "cobblestone" esophagus. A cobblestone pattern is thought to be the result of edema and inflammation of the esophageal wall rather than of mucosal ulceration, and represents early changes in monilial esophagitis.
