Abstract
The limits of the gingival crevice and the relative strength of tissue attachment is demonstrable in an adult female rat by utilizing an apparatus constructed to propel carbon particles through a blunted hypodermic needle. A gas cylinder with a variable reducing valve provides gas at a given pressure. The gas stream is directed through a dust chamber containing a magnetic mixing device which provides additional movement to the powder. The gas and C containing stream can then be directed into the gingival crevice by placing the needle orifice immediately above the gingival margin.
