Über die Messung des Sauerstoffdruckes, bei dem Sporen von Clostridium butyricum auskeimen

Abstract

Spores of Clostridium butyricum germinate under strictly anaerobic conditions and also in presence of small amounts of O2. They do not germinate at an O2 pressure above 40 mm of water but germinate at O2 pressures below 30 mm of water. The same sensitivity to O2 in the germination of spores was found for suspensions in beef bouillon and in ascites tumor cells of mouse.
