Emissivity and heat of dissociation of CN

Abstract
The dissociation energy D0 of CN has been deduced from measurements of the emission from CN and C2 generated by pyrolyzing BrCN in the shock tube: D0= 7.8 ± 0.2 eV. Computed intensities for the (Δv=–1) CN violet band are given in polynomial form, together with the associated low resolution spectral distributions, as a function of temperature.
