Abstract
The petals of Ranunculus acer contain 4 xanthophylls[long dash]Lutein, xanthophyll [beta] or one identical to it, taraxanthin with probably some viola-xanthin in it and flavoxanthin. The xanthophylls were freed through saponification and repeatedly extracted with benzine and methanol. The separation was done through repeated chromatographic analysis with CaCO3 and benzine. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
