Abstract
Lactic acid and glucose levels in blood samples can be stabilized by the use of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, acid citrate buffer (pH 4) and NaF. Oxidation of acetaldehyde, formed from lactic acid by eerie oxidation, by excess Ce++++ at 50-60[degree] is prevented by removal of the acetaldehyde from the reaction mixture in a current of air. Apparatus is described.
