The effect of high-temperature treatment of YBCO powder on the microstructure and Jcof YBCO/Ag/Ni tapes

Abstract
The critical current density of the hot-rolled YBCO composite superconducting tape was remarkably increased by treating YBCO superconducting powder at 1030-1080 degrees C for 0.5-3.0 h. The best Jc value in the present study was 7200 A cm-2 at 77 K. The increase of Jc was attributed to the improvement in the microstructure of the tape, such as twin density, fine '211' phase particles and crystal size. Ag/Ni composite tape was proved to be a more applicable substrate material than Ag or Ni.
