Abstract
Requirements for aerosol spectrometer based on the differential electrical mobility method are deduced from the principles of aerosol classification and concentration determination. Data reduction and method-inherent sources of errors are discussed in detail. Criteria for the components of the arrangement to be used for ambient aerosol size distribution measurements are given with respect to size range, concentration range and time resolution. Keywords
