Abstract
The infrared spectra of the anhydrous rare‐earth nitrates are presented in the region 4000–100 cm−1. Strong coordination of the nitrate groups to the metal atom occurs. Possible different types of metal—oxygen bonding in these compounds is discussed. Keywords
