Toxicity of Benzene Hexachloride to Housefly Larvae

Abstract
The concs. of toxicant, in ppm., that allowed 50% of the larvae of Musca domestica to emerge as adults were as follows: Benzene hexachloride 8, DDT 77, thiourea 81, and borax 924. These concs. are based on the total amt. of media used in each test. The data show that under the conditions of these tests the gamma isomer of benzene hexachloride is the most toxic to housefly larvae of the insecticides tested, DDT and thiourea are approx. equal in toxicity, and borax is the least toxic.
