Das „Kriegsulkus”, eine neue und kriegsbedingte Form des Ulcus pepticum

Abstract
A new type of peptic ulcer occurs chiefly in cTd, 50-60 years old. Roentgenologically, it is a large ulcer on the lesser curvature; changes in the mucosal folds are absent. Hypoacidity or achlorhydria is present. Gastritis is noted gastroscopically and occult bleeding occurs even when the ulcer is healing. The ulcer responds to therapy. Gastritis probably precedes the ulcer development and the lesions may be due to disturbed nutrition, psychic disturbances, and overwork incident to the war.
