Abstract
In the last decade, it has become clear that gestational diabetes is a clinical entity associated with morbidity and mortality for both the fetus and the mother. Thus, attention to and management of gestational diabetes during pregnancy are mandatory. It is customary to evaluate the severity of a clinical condition in pregnancy through the perspective of the effect of the condition on the fetus and the effect of pregnancy on the condition. The abnormal glucose tolerance test (OGTT) during pregnancy should be assessed using these guidelines. (C) Lippincott-Raven Publishers.
