Abstract
Hemolytic titer of human serum for ox erythrocytes was inversely proportional to the concn. of erythrocytes if the ratio of erythrocytes to complement was kept constant and if the complement was more than 8 times the minimum hemolytic dose. A test was therefore developed which could determine accurately and consistently ox-cell hemolysins in human sera. In patients with glandular fever, the titer of serum ox-cell hemolysins was consistently much higher than that found in normal sera.
