Abstract
The composition of ribonucleic acid (RNA) was determined in the growing ovaries of normal resistant house flies (Musca domestica L.) at 24-hours intervals. The bases were identified and the amounts determined quantitatively. Adenine and uracil predominated. No significant differences in nucleic acid composition were found owing either to age or to strain. Estimation of RNA content in the normal strain showed a two-and-one half-fold increase based on ovarian weight from eclosion to 96 hours after emergence. Keywords
