Abstract
Studies of the listening habits of personal cassette player users have hccn carricd out in both Southampton and Turin. The results have been compared with other rescarchcs carried out independently in London and Nottingham. Patterns of noisc cxposurc havc bccn cxamined and estimates of hearing damage risk hypothesiscd. Habitual users of such devices could suffer adversc effects and should be aware of thc symptoms associated with temporary threshold shifts in hcaring.Keywords
