Studies of the physico-chemical state of calcium in the serum of the ruminant

Abstract

The changes occurring in the partition of serum Ca were descr. (a) on transferring animals from a P-deficient diet to a P-adequate diet, and vice versa, and (b) in starvation of animals. A study was made of the McLean-Hastings mass law equation relating serum Ca and serum protein. The unreliability of the constant obtained is pointed out.
