Abstract
Nuclei were isolated from mouse-ascites cells and normal tissue. From normal- and malignant-cell nuclei similar proportions of protein could be extracted by acid, portion of which precipitated on dialysis to pH 6.5. The protein soluble at pH 6.5, examined by chromatography and electrophoresis, was mostly histone. Those insoluble at pH 6.5 were separated by chromatography into an acidic and a basic fraction. Keywords
