Abstract
Spin‐lattice relaxation times were observed for protons in a number of aqueous solutions of symmetrical chromium (III) complexes. The observed times were in the order to be expected if it is assumed that those ions displaying the greatest tendency to interact with solvent water also exhibit the greatest relaxation effect. Thus, relaxation times for protons in solutions of the ions Cr(H2O)6+3, CrF6—3, Cr(NH3)6+3, Cr(C2O4)—3, Cr(en)3—3, and Cr(CN)3—3 were observed to increase in the order given. Keywords
