Abstract
The solution to the static model, with linear approximation to the function, is applied to a sequence of meson-baryon scattering problems. As in the old strong-coupling model, it is found that the and are the first two members of a sequence of particles with , and that an analogous sequence is obtained when strange particles and SU(3) symmetry are included. In both cases, the particle is discussed in some detail. In the SU(2) case, general expressions are also derived for the widths of all the other members the sequence.
