Abstract
Previous studies have shown that lactose, which produces galactose and glucose, 2 monosaccharides used by nervous tissue, may be an important food in terms of the metabolism of the brain. The authors found that rats fed on lactose-deficient diets showed retardation in problem solving as compared with rats fed on a lactose-containing diet. This was particularly true in the female. Keywords
