Growth of Crystal Whiskers

Abstract

A solution has been found for the rate of growth of crystal whiskers from the vapor when nucleation on the whisker surfaces does not occur. Expressions have also been derived relating the supersaturation ratio of adsorbed atoms along the whisker to the total length from which certain predictions can be made concerning the probability of nucleation.
