Abstract
A case of acute fatal parathyroid poisoning is reported. The patient had an extremely high level of serum phosphorus and a normal level of serum calcium. Autopsy revealed heavy deposits of calcium in all the internal organs, as has been previously seen in parathyroid poisoning. The parathyroid adenoma showed diffuse necrosis with thrombosis of almost all the vessels. The probable reason for the hyperphosphatemia is discussed.
