Abstract
The serum pharmacokinetics of ketoconazole were studied in six volunteers. Each received 200 mg and 400 mg of ketoconazole as single oral doses on two occasions separated by 2 weeks. Serum ketoconazole concentrations were measured over a 48 h period using a microbiological agar diffusion method. Peak serum concentrations were proportional to dose and occurred within 3 h. The mean serum after the 200 mg dose was 122 ± 25 mm (mean ± s.o.) and after the 400 mg dose was 160 ± 29 mm. These differences were significant (P <0.01).Keywords
