Abstract
Summary 1. The results are given of a snail survey in the Kota Kota district of Nyasaland. 2. The results of an investigation into the local incidence of urinary schistosomiasis in the district are noted. 3. The snail Bulinus (Physopsis) globosa (Morelet) is incriminated as the intermediate host of schistosomiasis in the area. 4. Control methods are discussed. Until such time as rural sanitation becomes more developed, the use of the easily cultivated fish poison—Tephrosia vogelii—as a molluscicide is advocated.
