Some possible stress-distributions in a model of a dry relaxed plain-knitted loop are investigated, the fabric being assumed to lie in a horizontal plane. In particular, the forces and couples applied by one loop to its neighbour at the points where they interlock are discussed, and estimates of their magnitude are given.
