An Improved Method for Differentiating Acid-forming from Non-acid-forming Bacteria

Abstract

Excessive acid formation in some biol. processes may be undesirable because of enzyme inhibition and the production of undesirable by-products. A modification of Garey''s medium is described in which indicator changes and dissolving of CaCOs permit evaluation of pH of growth of organisms.
