Abstract
The effectof different immunosuppressive agents on survival of kidney grafts from BN to WAG inbred rat strains was studied. Animals given continuous treatment with nontoxic doses of Imuran showed a marked prolongation of survival time as compared with untreated controls. Some effect was seen from daily treatment with prednisolone and from repeated local irradiation of the graft. Kidney transplantation in the rat appears to be a useful model for the study of immunosuppressive measures for clinical application.
