Effect of Chain Length on the Retention Times of Polythionates in High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography

Abstract

The retention times in high-pressure anion exchange chromatography of a homologous series of polythionates (S_nO₆⁼ can be predicted quite accurately. It is shown that a linear relationship exists between the logarithm of the retention time and the number (n) of sulphur atoms.
