Human Infections Caused by Organisms of the Bacillus Species

Abstract

Organisms of the bacillus species were associated with infections in 48 patients seen in a general hospital in a period of two years. Most of these patients had traumatic wounds and most of the infections were mild. These bacteria can be pathogenic; their presence in cultures, including blood cultures, should not be disregarded.
