The Quadrupole Moment Ratio ofI129andI127from Pure Quadrupole Spectra

Abstract

The pure quadrupole spectra for ${\mathrm{I}}^{129}$ and ${\mathrm{I}}^{127}$ have been observed in Sn${\mathrm{I}}_4$ at 77°K and at 20°K. The nuclear quadrupole moment ratio has been determined to be $\frac{Q\left({\mathrm{I}}^{129}\right)}{Q\left({\mathrm{I}}^{127}\right)}=0.701213\mathrm{}\pm 0.000015$.
