Uropterinausscheidung beim gesunden und beim kranken Menschen

Abstract
Uropterine was detd. by measuring the specific fluorescence of the pigment in Na2CO3-soln. with photometer and quartz-lamp. Uropterine was formed in the human body and did not come from the food. The normal daily elimination in the urine amounted to 1 mg. It was eliminated in greater amts. in cases of pernicious and secondary anaemia, lymphatic leukemia, and granuloma of the lymphatic glands. Certain infectious diseases also caused an increase in the uropterine elimination (as scarlet fever, pneumonia, sepsis and miliary tuberculosis). Even the normal urine sometimes showed high uropterine values, for example after an unusual bodily strain.
