Efficient Catalysis of Acidic Montmorillonite on Addition of Silyl Ketene Acetal to Imine

Abstract
Strongly acidic clay montmorillonite was found to be an excellent catalyst for additions of silyl ketene acetals to imines. Comparison was also made of catalysis between the clay and trimethylsilyl triflate.
